PSI in the global arena
"
PSI needs to take a leading role in developing a new policy to defeat neo-liberalism and corporate greed" says Jan Davidsen, President of the largest Public Services Union in Norway (NUMGE). "The main function of PSI is to be in the global arena. PSI represents us all at meetings in the UN, IMF, the World Bank and OECD. PSI has to secure everything is going the right way when international trade agreements are being signed and to watch the steps of multinational companies."
Social Justice through Trade Union Rights, Equality and Quality Public Services is our goal and we will fight – and we will win. Solidarity works!
"Let's keep our green hats and be ambassadors for the Robin Hood tax in our countries" says Anne-Marie Perret, EPSU President. "Acting at the global level for a financial transaction tax is more than important but we must act at national and regional levels too.
"It is time to stop talking. It is time to go back to our countries to work on what we have assigned to," says Rosa Pavanelli, PSI's new General Secretary at the closing of the World Congress in Durban.
